Original post made on May 5, 2011

Dear Editor,

I used one of the on-line book services to create a history of my mother in pictures from her photo albums, 1922 to 1960. I used Shutterfly but there are many including Costco.

The book illustrates my mother performing in vaudeville, marrying my father, and the grandparents on both sides. It builds a story of how Elizabeth Marion Warn Bailey built our family. I selected photos that illustrated her love of life and humor, her enjoyment of travel, her times with my brother and me, and mostly to celebrate who she is in many memories I hold very dear.

I recommend the process of creating a book as it allows the reality, or memory, of one's mother to become a sharp focus for the author and a loving piece of history for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
