Many memories from the past at the Village Theater! I was totally freaked at the matinee's on Saturdays - 10 cents - in the late fifties, and I spent the night in my parents bed recovering from the scary "Blood Rust" and the "Crawling Eye". Great red suckers and Jujubees for 5 cents and the loges always full of the older kids making out.
My grandfather worked at the San Ramon Valley Chapel next door and helped with the temporary morgue that was set up in the upstairs of the theater after the F-27 plane crash out on Tassajara Rd. from a flight from Las Vegas...many silver dollars at the crash site reported but no survivors.

Great comments about the memories. Would you mind sharing those with our staff who are trying to collect stories from the history of the VT?

Thanks and hope to see you this weekend at the Gala!
