The Town of Danville: Alamo's viewpoint
Original post made by Kathy Bell on Apr 17, 2008
The Town of Danville conducting armed actions by Danville Police in Diablo Vista (Alamo) neighborhoods has become a well-discussed issue in many e-exchanges. Only a remnant of a past Alamo culture has any linkage with the Town of Danville or considered Danville to be a cultural center for our neighborhoods. Thus, to provide The Danville Weekly readership with a majority viewpoint from our region, we offer the following:
#1 - The Town of Danville is not a model for any government formation by a majority of residents in our region. In our viewpoint, Danville Government is out of touch with its neighborhoods and is our example for opposing the Alamo Incorporation Movement's incorporation proposal.
#2 - The Town of Danville is not our economic center for retail, commercial, professional and hospitality services and Walnut Creek is that obvious center. Our Alamo Plaza has more Danville shoppers than Danville has Alamo shoppers.
#3 - The Town of Danville lost our neighborhoods' interest when the goverment unilaterally refused to continue access to the SRV YMCA new construction just behind current facilities in Hap Magee Park. Now, as further unilateral action, the same park will be used for equestrian staging and the environmental hazards and odors accompanying such usage.
#4 - The Town of Danville lost further interest from our neighborhoods as part of a unilateral action by SRVUSD to build a parking lot and an expanded roadway at MVHS. Stone Valley Road expansion has invited a commute corridor to be created in our neighborhoods.
Diablo Vista (Alamo) neighborhoods, including neighborhoods currently within Danville borders do not appreciate the actions of the Town of Danville and their Police. We can hope that Mayor Andersen, with her exceptional outreach, will bring a remedy to the Town of Danville's issues in Alamo.

Why would you want the Town of Danville to remedy its issues in Alamo, if Alamo doesn't want the Town of Danville's "armed actions" in Alamo?!

I have been out-OX'd by the oxymoron Giselle posted. In clarification the first remedy is elimination of actions by Danville Police in Alamo and especially armed actions. Thus, in courtesy to Giselle and invitation for her further questions, I can only imagine that Danville residents have a similar, growing separation from Alamo.
Is that the reality?
Many thanks and best wishes to Giselle for posting her comments,

Mayor Andersen responded with appropriate concern and exceptional outreach just now. Her message shall be confidential but I want all Diablo Vista region neighbors to understand her timely response and focused concern for the safety of our neighbors.
