From what I've heard, the perps of these email scams are hard to weed out even if they reside in the U.S., so good job on the arrest - kudo's to both police departments.
Many elderly folks new to using computers and the internet can easily fall prey to these lowlifes. It may seem naive to the rest of us, but it happens every day.
