Good that it is finally posted to alert, make all people aware that hiking in a very beautiful park also has hidden unexpected happenings.

All public agencies associated with parks, hiking groups ALWAYS advise, hike with a buddy ALWAYS for safety sake, a dog while man's best friend, will not prevent an attack.

Why is it that the whole town goes up in an uproar when a mountain lion is sighted but a rape & assault of a woman in broad daylight in a public place doesn't even earn a mention by the press within 24 hours of it happening?
"frankly"--as much as you would prefer that woman pair up for safety at all times, it isn't always a choice. Bringing a dog, not wearing headphones and being aware of one's surroundings can help ANYONE stay safe, but all citizens should have the ability to move freely & safely in our streets and local parks, especially at 3:30 in the afternoon. Stop blaming the victim--where are YOUR brains??
