Planning Commission passes Elworthy plans

The Planning Commission approved a residential development on the 459-acre Elworthy Ranch on Tuesday. The Commission voted 6-1 to approve the project despite resident concerns about traffic, overcrowding in schools and aesthetics.

More and more we realize that Danville's government is not a model for anything we should wish for our Diablo Vista (Alamo) region, now is it.

Dear neighbors,

AS many in our region are realizing, city planning is an oxymoron. A "plunk and play" hodge podge of projects dumped into neighborhoods without relative character is not planning as much as it is LANDFILL.

The sad humor of such an oxymoron is that it must be lived with long after a better solution should have been proposed for balanced community design.

Why am I not laughing?

"The clustered homes would be located on the flat section of the property close to Stone Valley Road. About 232 acres of the site would be dedicated to the East Bay Regional Park District for preservation, and 182 acres would have a protective easement barring future development."

Close to Stone Valley Rd? Las Trampas? Elworthy? Stone Valley is at least 4 miles away from the Elworthy Ranch. This makes no sense

They should only let Suncrest Homes build this development if they create an El Capitan overpass extension over I-680 from Camino Ramon to San Ramon Valley Blvd to relieve traffic congestion on San Ramon Valley Blvd, Greenbrook Dr and Camino Ramon caused by this development. There would be no present need to widen San Ramon Valley Blvd to four lanes if their was an El Capitan overpass solving EBMUD's problem with widening the road and its impact on a local water pumping plant.

Dear neighbors,

Iron Horse neighbors e-exchanges now deal with issues along the Iron Horse Corridor from the Concord Naval Weapons Station to Sunol. The individuals that participate in the Town Square Forum are located in southern Walnut Creek/Tice Valley and reach into San Ramon.

The commentary is related to community voice, infrastructure including traffic management, economic development, and usage of the environment.
