I understand it is common for teenagers to sneak out at night and hang out together. Sooner or later something like this will happen. Two 15 year old boys were nearly killed when they were run over by a car while sleeping in a street at 3:30 in the morning.
What can we do to keep these kids safe and inside at night? My daughter seems to thing that if their not doing something against the law it's no big deal.

I can see sleeping outside - especially in the heat - but in the street? Can't imagine. Maybe the last person was right, it was the forbiddenness that appealed to them. Poor Chronicle delivery person! It sounds kind of unfair that police are saying she may be to blame. I know we are supposed to always watch for cars, bikes, children, etc., but people sleeping on the street?

In reference to the 14 year old SRVHS daughter..One case against the two fifteen year olds is that Danville does have a curfew which they obviously broke. Why couldn't these boys star gaze on the front lawn or in the back yard? I feel terrible for this Chronicle delivery person. I agree with Dee who would have thought to watch for children sleeping in the street.
