Boy Scouts Honored for 99 Years of Scouting

Original post made by Mark Curtis on Feb 27, 2009

The Danville Town Council recently issued a proclamation honoring local Boy Scout Troops on their 99th anniversary of scouting. Scouts from Troop 36 at St. Timothy's Church in Danville conducted the flag ceremony at the last Town Council meeting. The proclamation was delivered to Dr. Tom Long, a longtime San Ramon Valley pediatrician and Board Member of the Mount Diablo-Silverado Boy Scout Council.

The Council is planning a year-long list of activities to celebrate 100 years of Scouting next year. If you would like to volunteer or contribute, go to www.bsa-mdsc.org. Eagle Scouts are strongly encourgaed to participate in reunion activities!

Received today from Vince at alamoposthole@yahoo.com:

After 99 years of scouting, not only are these pretty old boys, but their dutch ovens must have worn out.

Did I miss something?

Smiling a weekend smile,
