Mom's best advice
Original post made by Mom x 3 on May 1, 2007
My mom's best advice:
1. Build your financial credit and your good name and keep it healthy. Make sure if and when you need something that people find you trustworthy.
2. Get an education. Your freedom, your money, your house and everything can be taken from you... but your education stays with you for a lifetime.
And the most important, and truest:
3. Enjoy your life, because the older you get, the faster the time goes.
Anyone else have a smart mom?

I have a smart mom just like you and she gave me the same advice that she gave you.

When I started high school, my mother started a career and it worked out great. We had interesting conversations at our dinner table every night, plus she was not overly involved in my life, which I find sometimes happened with my kids' friends in Danville. They worry and angst over every little problem their teens have, when mostly they just have to outgrow some things.
My Dad gave me the advice you mention about education and only buying what you can pay for - plus: Don't smoke.

my mom taught me to enjoy spending time alone and to think for myself. she also taught me to see the humor in the world and use laughter as a way to stay sane when times get tough.
