Rally post: Meals on Wheels donations

Original post made by Conservitizen Paintor, Danville, on May 2, 2013

Hi everyone:

Another article in this fine publication reports the difficulties of the charity Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa, our county, obviously. Based on funding they have lost recently, they may need to curtail services to some 200 seniors who rely on them for healthy food -- an important element of their ability to sustain themselves outside of an institutional setting.

The Who-shot-John politics of this situation are thoroughly debated in the comments to that article. If you have further thoughts on those merits, please use that thread. THIS post is just a place where you can report having made a contribution of any size to Meals on Wheels, to help offset their shortfall.

The on-line donation page is here: Web Link Their mailing address is:

Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa
P.O. Box 3195
Martinez, CA 94553
Federal Tax ID №68-0231350

Let's see what we can do in our town to lend a helping hand! 'Conservator' and 'Citizen Paine' have ante'd-in -- how about you? Here's a photo of a gentleman your donation may serve: Web Link

Brag about it below -- and thanks!

Okay - I'm in, just made my contribution. A good deed along with penance for getting snippy on the threads now and then!

You gentlemen are persuasive. Working in the non-profit field, I donate a huge part of my salary to various charities. This one I had missed until now.

I donated earlier, and just wanted to lend my kudos for a great idea for a post, and a great way to inspire everyone to contribute. Nicely done.
