It's always good to check your sources. The "Institute for Energy Research" is a front for coal and petroleum lobbyists. Web Link

CCST, on the other hand, is a legitimate outfit. My thoughts:

From the CCST 2011 report:
"California can achieve emissions roughly 60% below 1990 levels with technology
we largely know about today if such technology is rapidly deployed at rates that are
aggressive but feasible."
"California can cut emissions to 80% below 1990 levels, but this will require significant new research and development as well as deployment of the resulting technologies."

From Wayne Gretzky:
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Huh, Thanks for the 'credible' link with input from the Huff Post which of course is unbiased....With the CCST board filled with UC and CS professors, I'm sure their political and thought processes are also unbiased. Right?
Like saying our ARB is unbiased while stocked by or basically run by the Sierra Club.

Ben, facts are facts. If you don't like the source I picked use any of the numerous others which confirm that the CEO of the "Institute for Energy research" is a former director of public relations for Enron (he wrote Ken Lay's speeches) and its affiliated "American Energy Alliance" is run by a lobbyist for Koch Industries, and both entities are secretly funded by the Kochs. They are paid to undermine efforts to increase the production of energy by any means other than burning coal and petroleum. Those are facts.

The CCST board, on the other hand, is composed of professors from various California Universities as well as representatives of major industries, with no financial incentive one way or the other.

Why am I not surprised that you choose the blatant corporate propaganda shills over scientists?
