Be a sport: Send us your youth sports news, scores and photos

Uploaded: Jul 29, 2014
Sorry I haven't written a blog in a while, but I actually have been doing a lot of writing ... and submitting a lot of public records requests ... and sifting through thousands of documents to produce stories including one that was the culmination of seven months of work. Stay tuned because there is more to come!

While I love this type of reporting, which is necessary and seems to be appreciated, a community newspaper and website is made up of more than just this type of story. It's also the names and faces and the achievements of our young people.

We want to publish more youth sports results, but we need the help of parents and coaches to make that happen.

We are encouraging a team representative to send us scores, news and photos for publication. We've created a form to make is as simple as possible. Please use first and last names. Once you have completed the form, email it to Jeremy Walsh, jwalsh@embarcaderomediagroup.com, or fax to 650-223-7554. For more information, call Jeremy at 925-600-0840, ext. 111.

We welcome photos too! If you are submitting a photo, identify the people in the photo with first and last names from left to right. Photos should be attached to the email with the game information and should be in JPG format, at least 300 dpi. All photos won't be printed, but we will do our best to put them online. Action shots are preferred, but not necessary.

The most important part of this is to provide your information so we can contact you if we have questions.

Hello, a while back you kept replying to other people comments saying you wanted them to email you for an article you were going to write concerning the troubled times PUSD finds itself in... Will such an article be written?

Gina Channell-Allen is a registered user.

Funny you should ask! After 10 months, eight public records requests, dozens of interviews and probably 100 hours of sifting through and trying to make sense of redacted documents, it is set to publish Friday.

The print version will be cut, though, because the final report ended up being about 4,000 words. The full version will publish online with links to documents.
