I just can't sit on this any longer. To say I am upset would be a gross understatement. I am mad as hell.
During the past week, I have received nasty, hateful emails and was ever approached and reprimanded in person at the Danville Farmer's Market for my backing of Jerry McNerney for Congress.
I am a registered Republican. I am also a United States Air Force Veteran and was willing to put my life on the line so we have freedom of "choice "in this country. I would be willing to do that today. For anyone to suggest that "I sold out my soul for a Veterans Hall" as one woman did is disgusting to say the least. That is just one of the statements I have received in the last week.
Another person approached me at our Farmer's Market last Saturday. I knew her husband, a former very proud Marine and also an elected official, read me the riot act for having the "gall" to vote for a Democrat. She told me "I should be ashamed of myself" for voting for a Democrat. I know her husband would be ashamed of her.
Some of the other hateful statements go back to my backing of Ellen Tauscher almost 20 years ago. I would do the same thing this very day.
I am just fuming to think that anyone in this country would be called names and threatened for voting for the person he chose.
I could go on but you get the idea.
