Alamo home tour sparks holiday spirit

Attendees ooh and aah over decorations – and get ideas

The ninth annual Holiday Home Tour on Friday and Saturday was a Christmas fest under bright skies at five lovely Alamo homes.

The owners opened their festively decorated houses to supporters of the Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek branch of the American Association of University Women to raise funds for local women scholars and Tech Trek Science Camp, a weeklong summer program for girls entering the eighth grade.

The homes on the holiday tour held decades of decorations lovingly collected by the owners, as well as some passed down through generations. The people on the tour – mostly women – not only appreciated the collections but also garnered ideas that could applied to their own homes.

The local AAUW branch is offering its spring Garden Tour on May 9-10, another chance to visit beautiful homes in the area and support AAUW's commitment to educational and economic equity for women and girls.
