DPD: Fight at Burger King leads to drug arrest

Danville police arrested a Bay Point man for drug-related offenses Saturday morning after receiving a report of the man fighting with another person at a local fast food restaurant.

Adrian Louis Caulboy, 30, was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins.

The incident began just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday when a worker at the downtown Burger King reported two men were involved in an altercation that began inside the eatery and drifted outside, Simpkins said.

When officers arrived at the restaurant on Front Street, they found Caulboy to be intoxicated, the chief added. A subsequent search at the scene allegedly revealed Caulboy to be in possession of four baggies of suspected meth, along with a scale and empty baggies.

The second man, whose name was not released, was interviewed by officers and released at the scene, Simpkins said. The two men were apparently acquaintances before the altercation began, the chief added.

Caulboy does not currently face any charges related to the fight itself, according to Simpkins.
