Danville council to consider road closures for events

Requests include holiday tree lighting, Thursday Night Street Festivals, Run for Education and Danville Fall Crafts Festival

The Danville Town Council on Tuesday (Feb. 4) is set to consider closing town streets to accommodate nine special events scheduled for later this year.

The events include a number of Danville staples, such as the Devil Mountain Run on May 4, the Independence Day parade, Hot Summer Nights in July and August, and the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree on Nov. 28.

The street-closure requests lead a light agenda for the regular council meeting, set to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall.

In other business, council members will present a proclamation naming this as National Boy Scout Week.

The council will also hear reports about community development in the town, the Tri-Valley Transportation Council, Street Smarts and the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority franchise agreement process.

The Town Meeting Hall is located at 201 Front St. in downtown Danville.

Your agenda is light. WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO PUT ON THE AGENDA DANVILLE'S MEMBERSHIP IN THE PRO-HIGH-DENSITY HOUSING ORGANIZATION CALLED ABAG? Answer: They refuse to put ABAG on the agenda because they represent the special interests. Storer is a developer, Arnerich an architect (he LOVES to see things built), Doyle appears to have no idea what is going on, Stepper was put in office by developers, and Morgan is their lackey. All in all, a disaster for Danville.

Storer, Arnerich, Doyle, Stepper, and Morgan need to be replaced with Council members that represent the people, not special interests.

Dear Danville Voter...Remember before you make a statement like what you said (need to be replaced with Council members that represent the people, not special interests) REMEMBER WHO PUT THEM INTO OFFICE.

Unless you are living in a the people of Danville put those folks into office. As older and wiser people always say, "you make you bed, now you have to sleep in it"

As I always say...look in the mirror if you want to cast blame on anything that happens in the Town of Danville.

Thank you for listening, Julia Pardini from Alamo
