A new cemetery proposed for the Tassajara Valley will be the discussion topic during a San Ramon City Council workshop Tuesday (June 24).
The Creekside Memorial Park Cemetery, proposed by developer Sid Corrie, would sit on 58.7 acres of a nearly 222-acre site at 7000 Camino Tassajara. Crossed by Tassajara Creek, the property is located north of Windemere Parkway in unincorporated Contra Costa County east of the San Ramon city limits.
As currently planned, the facility would consist of upper and lower gardens, a main administrative and chapel building, four outdoor mausoleums, one indoor mausoleum, a storage building, a corporation yard and a 0.88-acre free-form lake with an island.
The project calls for setting aside one acre for a potential future fire station and would require removal of about a dozen trees, according to county planning officials.
The city council workshop, consisting of a presentation and discussion, is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tuesday inside the San Ramon City Council Chambers on Camino Ramon.
