San Ramon council to interview Planning Commission candidates

Six applicants seek to fill seat vacated earlier this summer

The San Ramon City Council is set to host a special meeting Monday evening in its effort to name the city's newest planning commissioner.

Six residents have filed applications to fill the final seat on the five-member commission, a vacancy created when commissioner Dennis Viers stepped down earlier this summer after serving for 11 years, according to city clerk Renee Beck.

The City Council is scheduled Monday to conduct applicant interviews and consider appointing the new commissioner to complete Viers' unexpired term, which runs through next June.

The Planning Commission vacancy is the only item listed on the council's special meeting agenda, set to get underway at 5 p.m. at San Ramon City Hall, 2222 Camino Ramon.
