SRV Exchange Club receives $10,000 from PG&E

Check presented at unveiling of company's new Concord electric grid center

The Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley received a $10,000 contribution to boost its scholarship fund from PG&E earlier this month.

The utility company presented the five-figure check during the dedication ceremony for its new electric grid center in Concord on Aug. 20.

On-hand to accept the donation was Karen Stepper, Danville's vice mayor and a past president of the Exchange Club. Danville singer Avery Chapman also attended the event, singing the national anthem for the crowd.

"Thanks to the generosity of PG&E as a major sponsor, the club has awarded over 75 college scholarships and essay awards to our youth," Stepper said in a statement.
