The San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park will be closed for part of Friday (Oct. 30) while PG&E crews complete maintenance on the transformer supplying power to the public facility, according to city officials.
The closure is set to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and city officials anticipate the pool will reopen for regularly scheduled activities starting at 3 p.m.
City officials said that in order to conduct its work, PG&E must turn off power to the pool, which is adjacent to California High School on Broadmoor Drive. Friday is a professional development day for school district staff, so classes aren't held for students at the high school -- or any district campus.
Lap swim hours will be offered at the Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center, 10550 Albion Road, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., city officials said.
This is the second maintenance-related closure in the past week at the San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Center. The facility was shut down late last week while workers repaired a leaking water main in the area.
