Danville police are investigating an incident in which a man reported being robbed of his Rolex watch at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, according to a department spokesman.
The man told police he was approached outside a home on the 100 block of Alamo Springs Drive by individuals who pointed a gun at him and demanded his watch, according to Lt. Allan Shields.
After taking the watch, they got into a car and fled the area, Shields said. The vehicle was described as a silver, late-1990s Mercedes-Benz with yellow paper license plates on the front and rear.
Authorities are working to track down the culprits, but it's unclear exactly how many there were. Witnesses described either seeing two or three black males, believed to be in their late teens, according to Shields.
Some witnesses also said they saw the Mercedes driving around the neighborhood before the incident, the lieutenant said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, Shields said. Anyone with information about the case can contact Det. Sgt. Brian Sliger at 314-3700 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shields also encouraged anyone who sees suspicious activity to report such behavior to Danville police.
