Teenager killed after falling from car on I-680 in San Ramon

Hit by another car traveling behind

A teenage boy died when he apparently leapt out of a moving vehicle Friday night on I-680 in San Ramon.

A 16-year-old rear passenger in a Toyota Camry removed his seat belt and jumped out of the vehicle as it traveled in the highway's northbound lanes north of Alcosta Boulevard around 10:30 p.m., a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

A white sedan that was behind the Camry hit the teenager, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teen's name is not yet being released by the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

I feel sorry for the driver who hit the boy too. It wasn't his/her fault but it is a terrible thing to have to live with.

My hearfelt wishes to out to the family and all involved in this tragedy. I sure hope this doesn't turn out to be a case of under treated or poorly treated mental illness such as bipolar or autism
