SRPD: Man arrested after low-speed pursuit

Los Gatos resident booked on suspicion of DUI for Sunday night incident

A man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol fled from police in San Ramon on Sunday night, leading to a brief and low-speed pursuit on Interstate 680, according to police.

The 45-year-old Los Gatos man failed to pull over when a police officer attempted a traffic stop around 10 p.m. Sunday on the highway's southbound side, San Ramon police Sgt. Steve Fajardo said.

The man then slowly fled from police for about 5 miles -- from San Ramon to the highway's I-580 interchange in Dublin -- before finally pulling over, Fajardo said.

The man, whose name was not immediately available, was allegedly determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
