Dr. Seuss celebration set in Danville

Danville Community Center to honor birthday of children's author

It is truer than true! A celebration of the work and birth of Dr. Seuss will occur at the Danville Community Center this Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m.

Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, wrote and illustrated more than 40 children's books in his lifetime.

Activities at the event will include face painting, arts and crafts, games, face painting and story time and time with Dr. Seuss' characters, Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Light snacks will be served at the event and the event is catered to children in kindergarten to third grade.

The event is hosted by the Friends of the Danville Library and the town of Danville.

Parents can pre-register their children to attend the event by calling 314-3400 or registering online at danvillerecguide.com. Walk-in registration the day of the event is not permitted.
