Danville art gallery recruits guest curators

Danville's Village Theatre and Art Gallery Curatorial Committee is currently looking for applications from guest curators for art gallery exhibitions.

Guests curators must submit a proposal to the committee for review.

"Those interesting in proposing an exhibition are encouraged to visit the space, become familiar with the gallery's past and current exhibition program," Marija Nelson Bleier, the town's visual arts coordinator, said in a statement.

The exhibition space opened in November 2009 to expand the cultural arts programs offerings in Danville through the demonstrations of the art exhibits that represent the community.

During the review process, the committee will discuss the elements of a curatorial idea, then after select applicants are chosen for a second review, the guest curators will then submit additional materials and a project budget to the committee.

Guest curators interested in applying for the art gallery exhibitions must complete a proposal found on the town website.
