DSRSD clean water specialist recognized for work on recycled water fill stations

Stefanie Olson named WateReuse's 2015 Staff Person of the Year

Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) clean water specialist Stefanie Olson was honored by the state's largest water recycling industry group this month as the 2015 Staff Person of the Year.

WateReuse California honored Olson for her work on DSRSD's residential recycled water fill stations, which were popular enough to garner state and national media attention throughout the summer months.

"Stefanie's work was instrumental in helping Tri-Valley residents survive the drought and appreciate the true value of recycled water. Moreover, it has paved the way for potable reuse in the Tri-Valley and helped garner recycled water acceptance throughout the state," DSRSD principal engineer Rhodora Biagtan said in a news release.

From its inception in 2014 to the end of 2015, 3,600 people signed up to use the fill stations and took home 30 million gallons of recycled water for use on their lawns and plants, the district stated.

DSRSD provides water and wastewater service to Dublin and parts of San Ramon as well as wastewater service to Pleasanton by contract.
