Police: Danville nanny arrested after baby abuse caught on video

Danville police arrested a local nanny Monday after her employers allegedly saw her on video hitting and shaking their baby.

Mikayla Ririe, 23, of Antioch, remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of child abuse, Danville police chief Steve Simpkins said.

Officers responded to a home on Bordeaux Court around 2:30 p.m. after the parents reported seeing the abuse of their 10-month-old via a remote video camera, according to Simpkins.

Ririe was arrested at the home, located off Tuscany Way near the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road. The baby was taken to San Ramon Regional Medical Center as a precaution, Simpkins said.

The incident remains under investigation, according to the police chief. Additional details were not released as of Monday evening.

It looks like the incident with the infant isn't this woman's first run-in with the law. It appears that she has killed in the past: Web Link

Throw the book at her. No mercy should be granted. Whatever the longest possible sentence is should be given.
