Danville to host workshop on parks and recreation plan update

Interactive input session set downtown this Thursday

Town officials are asking the Danville community to help shape the future of recreation activities in the town by providing input during a public workshop later this week.

The town government is working to update its parks, recreation and arts strategic plan, and as part of the process, officials are hosting a community planning workshop this Thursday (June 23) to hear feedback from citizens about what the priorities should be.

"We invite people from across the community -- residents, businesses, youth, and community groups -- to provide their input about parks, recreation, arts and cultural opportunities. This is a great chance to have an impact on one of the most important resources our community has to offer," said Henry Perezalonso, the town's recreation, arts and community service manager.

The event, billed as an interactive workshop, is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 115 E. Prospect Ave., in downtown Danville.
