The San Ramon Police Department is searching for a man who was seen on surveillance video footage robbing a local gas station at gunpoint last week.
Investigators posted a video of the robbery on the department's social media accounts in the hopes of tracking down more information about the masked man.
The incident took place just after 2 a.m. Thursday at the Shell gas station just off Interstate 680 at Crow Canyon Road and Crow Canyon Place, according to Lt. Denton Carlson.
The man, whose face was covered, brandished a gun while robbing the shop of an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and stealing the clerk's wallet, Carlson said. The employee was uninjured during the incident.
The robber left on foot running toward Crow Canyon Place, Carlson said. Shortly after the incident, a gray four-door sedan was seen speeding from the area heading toward I-680, according to the lieutenant.
Based on the masked man's clothing, investigators think he may be employed as a security guard or in a similar field, Carlson said. He was described to police as about 6 feet tall.
Police also noted the robber had a distinct voice, and they encouraged people to watch and listen to the video posted on the department's Facebook page.
Anyone with information about the robber or the incident can call Det. J. Gardenier at 973-2789.
