Photos sought for 'Why I Love Danville' contest

Categories: ShopDinePlay, Town Events, Parks & Recreation and Nature & Architecture

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, with support from the town of Danville, has launched the ‘Why I Love Danville' photography contest for residents to show off what they enjoy most about Danville.

Those wishing to participate can submit a photo through Oct. 31 via the chamber's Facebook page by selecting the contest tab and picking a category.

Photos can be registered in four categories: ShopDinePlay, Town Events, Parks & Recreation and Nature & Architecture.

Residents are encouraged to vote online for the photos they feel best convey the spirit of the category and represent the town of Danville. The three photos in each of the four categories that garner the most votes will be declared the winners and announced during the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree event in November.

Winners will be awarded with a mobile Danville gift card with value up to $150 as well as have their photo featured within a series of collectible postcards developed by the chamber and sold at a local business. In addition, images will be used in future marketing efforts publicizing the Chamber and the town.

For more information, visit the contest page.

Fun way to showcase our AWESOME Town! I am excited to see the photos and have Danville souvenir postcards in my boutique! Please bring your camera to the Labor Day Relics on Railroad Antiques Faire at the Museum of the SRV.....a unique Town event for prospecting, shopping and a winning photo shoot- see you there, Marcia!
