High-energy classic rock is set to come to Danville's Village Theatre stage this week as the Thursdays @ the VT entertainment series continues through the end of the year.
Rock 'n' roll trio Captain Crunch is performing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the downtown theater, 233 Front St.
The series rolls on next month with Abel and the Prophets tapping into the funky Bay Area music scene of the '60s and '70s during their Danville show Oct. 13. The Latin rock, funk and soul group has roots in the mid-60s San Francisco, where they became the house band for many of the city's renowned night spots, Village Theatre reps said.
As the holiday season gets in full swing, Thursdays @ the VT is set to feature the 1983 holiday classic movie "A Christmas Story" on Dec. 8.
For tickets for individual shows or the entire series, visit the Village Theatre website or call 314-3400.
