San Ramon: Ribbon-cutting set for Bright Horizons childcare center

Public event runs 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday

San Ramon community members are set to gather Wednesday afternoon to welcome the city’s newest childcare and early education facility, Bright Horizons, which officially opened last month in Bishop Ranch.

The new childcare center, designed to provide high-quality educational activities for young children while helping their parents achieve better work-family balance, has the capacity to serve 204 children with infant, toddler, twos, preschool and kindergarten prep programs as well as drop-in care, according to Bright Horizons officials.

“We offer a unique curriculum that includes a world of discovery guided by skilled teachers who recognize each child’s individual strengths,” center director Arianna Andrade said. “Whether it’s our Movement Matters Zone or our wonderful, caring teachers, we’re truly excited to introduce our center to families in the community and celebrate.”

The center opened Sept. 1 in Bishop Ranch 3, Suite 150, at 2603 Camino Ramon, running Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round.

A public ribbon-cutting event is scheduled there Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m., featuring San Ramon Chamber of Commerce representatives and San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson.

The event will also include a live musical performance by the Dilly Dallies, along with refreshments and children’s activities such as storytelling, bubble-making and dancing in the Movement Matters Zone.
