Santa's Mailbox back open in Danville

Program lets kids correspond with Kris Kringle

Danville town officials are again hosting their annual Santa's Mailbox, giving children a direct connection to the North Pole and jolly old St. Nick himself.

Local kids can pen a letter with their wish lists for Santa, drop it off downtown and receive a return letter from Santa.

Letters are due by Dec. 9 to the mailbox in the lobby of the Danville Community Center at 420 Front St. They can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and they should include a return mailing address.

The Danville Library, also on Front Street, will have a mailbox open for letter drop-off as well during normal business hours.

Children who send a letter will receive a response from Santa by Christmas Eve, town officials said.

For more information, contact the Danville Community Center at 314-3400.
