Bishop Ranch announces new corporate tenants, upcoming City Center attractions

Four shops, restaurants coming to City Center; nine companies lease space in business park

The Bishop Ranch community has seen a bit of a population boom recently, with a diverse set of shops and restaurants scheduled to soon open at its City Center complex, as well as a collection of companies deciding to relocate to the area's corporate park.

“With our host of amenities, the new City Center Bishop Ranch across the street, and an excellent talent pool in the area, these companies found Bishop Ranch as the ideal location for their offices,” said Alexander Mehran Jr., president and chief operating officer of Sunset Development Company, owner of Bishop Ranch. “We take great pride in providing and fulfilling our customers’ needs with innovative and complete solutions in the modern workplace.”

City Center -- San Ramon’s retail and entertainment hub -- continues to grow, having added a series of new restaurants and shops to its list of offerings that have already opened or will open in the coming year.

“We will continue to add to the offerings at City Center that make it a unique and convenient destination for the East Bay community,” Mehran Jr. said. “From the international brand Sephora to San Francisco’s George and Unionmade, we are proud to align with brands that keep our customers coming back to City Center.”

Recently announced retailers coming to City Center include:

*Sephora - The iconic cosmetics and beauty supplier will be bringing 25,000 products from 400 carefully curated brands, to the City Center. Set to open this summer, the retailer will offer residents its esteemed personalized service and beauty experts

*Bamboo Sushi - All the way from its headquarters in Portland, Ore., the world’s first certified sustainable sushi restaurant, will serve a menu of signature sushi rolls, traditional nigiri and Japanese-inspired shared plates. Also set to open in the summer, City Center will be home to Bamboo Sushi’s first California location.

*George - Set to open this spring, will be bringing its high-quality locally sourced pet products to City Center. It will provide shoppers with bedding, collars and leads, bowls, apparel, grooming products and treats to enhance the lives of pets and their companions.

*Unionmade - The San Francisco-based menswear retailer is on track to open this summer and will offer shoppers some of the best-made, wardrobe-elevating apparel from across the world

“We’re excited to expand Bamboo Sushi into California starting with City Center Bishop Ranch. It’s such an amazing cohort of fellow businesses and restaurateurs. Being able to go into a Renzo Piano-designed building is a dream come true, especially when it’s set within such a great community,” said Kristofor Lofgren, founder and CEO of Bamboo Sushi.

On the corporate side of Bishop Ranch, the complex has signed nine new office space leases for companies, totaling 212,355 square feet.

The nine new leases primarily come from companies relocating from other Bay Area markets and cover a diverse range of industries. New tenants include:

*The Cooper Companies - A global medical device company, it will be moving its headquarters from Pleasanton to its recently acquired 49,315 square-feet in Bishop Ranch.

*Franklin Templeton - An international investment management organization, Franklin Templeton has leased 43,549 square feet.

*ARC (NYSE:ARC) - A provider of technology and document solutions primarily for the architecture, engineering and construction industry, ARC has leased 23,328 square feet which will become the new home for its headquarters.

*TRI Pointe Homes - Builds homes throughout Northern California and has leased 18,991 square feet in Bishop Ranch.

*Foster Farms - The West Coast poultry company with the award winning chicken commercials, has leased 18,938 square feet.

*Mason-McDuffie Mortgage Corporation - A Bay Area based mortgage lender, has leased 17,130 square feet.

*GCL Solar Energy, Inc. a solar energy enterprise, has leased 16,486 square feet.

*Lennar A real estate and construction company, B Lennar has expanded its existing lease to 13,138 square feet.

*Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A a technology company, has leased 11,480 square feet.

Bishop Ranch officials, as well as leaders from the commercial complexes new tenants, have cited the amenities offered in the area, with a particular focus on the recently opened City Center, as one of the primary draws to San Ramon.

Suri Suriyakumar, CEO of ARC, cited the numerous amenities offered by the Bishop Ranch and the surrounding area as one of the most appealing draws to the commercial center.

“The decision to relocate our headquarters to Bishop Ranch was a logical step in our growth strategy,” Suriyakumar said in a statement. “Our move was driven by the desire to combine our Northern California staff and the need for a more collaborative environment. Bishop Ranch not only had the space we needed, but it also featured amenities that would significantly enhance the work environment for our employees. We’ve built out a tremendously practical, team- oriented, and beautiful space at BR15, and we’re looking forward to doing great work here.”

The eight new tenants will join the more than 600 companies that employ approximately 30,000 people in Bishop Ranch. Current tenants include AT&T, Chevron, IBM, Rodan + Fields, PG&E, GE Digital, Robert Half, SAP, BlackBerry, Bank of the West, Toyota and Berkshire Hathaway.
