Fresh off accolades at the Golden Gate International Choral Festival this summer, the Cantabella Children's Chorus is preparing for its new performance season ahead, which includes multiple concerts, a trip to Ireland and an appearance at the historic Stanford Memorial Church.

Registration is open through next Friday (Sept. 15) for interested youth in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in the Tri-Valley and beyond. Training classes and rehearsals will take place in Pleasanton and Livermore ahead of the group's December concert.

An award-winning youth choir that performs and competes internationally, Cantabella notched a victory and other top finishes this July at the Golden Gate International Choral Festival.

Chorister Renna Popli, who attends Amador Valley High School, took first place in the Youth Solo category. Another Pleasanton chorister, Helen Li of Dorris-Eaton School, earned third place in Children's Solo.

Overall, the choir secured second-place rankings in the Youth Historical and Youth Folk categories.

Under the direction of artistic director Clem Cano, the choir has two concerts scheduled for the 2023-24 season – one in December and another in May – alongside multiple guest appearances including "The Nutcracker".

Cantabella was invited to sing this season at the century-old Stanford Memorial Church. "Being asked to sing at this venue is an honor; not just anyone gets to perform there," Cano said.

The group also plans to travel to Ireland next June and has been extended the opportunity to perform in Estonia in 2025. For more information or to register, visit www.cantabella.org.
