A woman who died after a crash Friday on Interstate 680 in Danville was identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office Monday as 55-year-old Farnaz Taheri-Stosik.
The Albany woman was involved in a crash on southbound I-680 south of Sycamore Valley Road that California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to at 11:02 a.m. Friday.
CHP officials said she was traveling in a Toyota sedan on the highway in rainy weather when she lost control of her vehicle, sending her spinning out across the highway’s lanes.
Her vehicle crossed in front of a Ford truck, which crashed into the sedan, CHP officials said. After the collision, both vehicles struck a retaining wall.
Taheri-Stosik was taken to John Muir Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. She was pronounced dead shortly afterward, CHP officials said.
The 38-year-old Concord man who was driving the truck did not suffer any injuries, according to the CHP. His name was not released.
