Danville Mayor Karen Stepper is set to be joined by local officials Saturday morning for a mayor’s town hall meeting designed to engage residents about local retail and economic development.

Attendees will hear presentations about reinvesting in the community through local shopping, the town’s economic development plan, downtown parking and partnerships between the town and supporting business.

The presentations will be made, respectively, by Stepper, town administrative services director Tai Williams, town transportation manager Andrew Dillard and Shelley Despotakis, CEO and president of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The program will include a question-and-answer session with the mayor and panelists.

Attendees will also receive a ‘passport book’ and can participate in a downtown retail treasure hunt after the event, where they are encouraged to visit at least three downtown businesses to win a prize.

The town hall meeting event is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. this Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Ave. in Danville.
