Streetwise: WWII memories
Ron Huesman, Retired Lawrence Berkeley Lab physicist and Veterans Hall docent: I remember being downtown San Francisco with my mother when the war ended, and there were lots of horns blowing and celebrations in the streets. Even though I was too young for WWII, I did serve aboard the USS Hornet as a marine in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam war.
