School District seeks community input on hiring superintendent

The Board of Education of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District is in the process of selecting a new district superintendent and would like community input about the desired characteristics to be targeted in its recruitment.

"We know it will be very difficult to replace a superintendent with the qualities of Rob Kessler," said Board President Greg Marvel. "We want this process to be thorough and thoughtful, and providing opportunities for community input is critical to the process."

The community is invited to participate in Open Forums scheduled for 7-8:15 p.m., Feb. 19 and 20, at the Greenbrook Elementary School Library, 1475 Harlan Drive.

Jake Abbott and Mike Caston of Leadership Associates have been selected to advise the board in the process, and will be collecting input and facilitating the two community forums.

Input may also be sent via fax to (949) 461-9119 or e-mail to To provide input by phone, please contact Jake Abbott/Mike Caston at (949) 461-9119.

For more information, contact Ginny Haddad at the District Office at 552-2933.
