Supervisors reduce Danville Boulevard speed limit in Alamo

Supervisor Mary Nejedly Piepho announced Monday that the County Board of Supervisors authorized a reduction in the speed limit on Danville Boulevard through downtown Alamo from 30 mph to 25 mph. The new speed limit will be posted between Alamo Way and Apple Tree Lane.

"I have been working with the Alamo Community Council and other local groups to find ways to reduce congestion and improve safety," said Piepho.

Prior to requesting the change, she sought feedback within Alamo on the reduction of the speed limit, and the responses were unanimously in favor of the change.

Piepho also requested the County Public Works Department to reconfigure the intersection at the Stone Valley Road and encouraged the California Highway Patrol to increase enforcement in the area.
