Museum hosting old-time resident who was WWII hero
Meet early Valley resident and World War II Hero Katsumi Hikido from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., tomorrow, April 5, at the Museum of the San Ramon Valley. Hikido is the son of Valley farmers; he attended the Tassajara One Room School and worked in the fields with his family raising tomatoes. During the war, his family was sent to a relocation camp while he fought with the famous 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Europe.
Hikido is appearing at the Museum in conjunction with its current exhibit, "Agriculture, For a Century, the Business of the Valley," which highlights the period of 1850 through 1950. It runs through May 10.
