Blood still needed urgently

For the third time in as many weeks, the American Red Cross is appealing to residents to donate blood.

"We are reaching the point where we will have to transfer blood from hospital to hospital to meet patients' needs for life saving transfusions," said Jay Winkenbach, CEO, American Red Cross Northern California Blood Services Region.
