When completed over the next several years, the plan will add new ministry, youth and fellowship space as well as parking and access improvements to the church at 222 W. El Pintado Road.
The initial phase, which is expected to be completed prior to the opening of school in the fall, will include renovation of the existing chapel and annex, an addition of 75 parking spaces, and a relocated access to the campus.
Church leaders said they are grateful that even in this difficult economic climate their congregation pledged sufficient funds to go ahead with the project. Additionally, from the funds raised for the project, $500,000 will be directed to three missions that CPC supports in San Francisco, Uganda and Bulgaria.
Church members said they were also grateful for the cooperation of the neighbors and the efforts of the town.
