Library ready for summer reading program

The Contra Costa County Library's Summer Reading Program will take place from June 8-Aug. 17, with interesting books, thrilling prizes and special events.

Children ages 2 through the fifth grade are encouraged to tap in on their artistic side and "Be Creative" for fun treats during the Kids' Summer Reading Program.

A Teen Reading Program encourages students in grades 6-12 to "Express Yourself." Babies from birth to 2 years are included, with the early literacy-building Baby Reading Program. Readers ages 18 and up are invited to "Master the Art of Reading" by submitting a book review online at or at their local library for a chance to win a Booklover's Bag full of goodies.

For more information, visit the Danville Library, 400 Front St.
