Bowlers to raise money for slain officers' families

San Ramon Valley firefighters invite everyone to bring their families and head down to Danville Bowl, 200 Boone Court, Danville, on Saturday, June 13. The San Ramon Valley Firefighters Association is hosting a charity bowling event to raise money to help the families of fallen Oakland Police Officers.

"We are hoping the community will come out, support the families and have a great afternoon of bowling, entertainment and fun," said firefighter Jonas Aguiar.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for kids, which includes open bowling from 2-6 p.m., food provided by Kinder's Barbeque, and entertainment by the San Ramon Valley Fire Pipes and Drums band.

Organizers will hold drawings and auction off prizes donated by the community, including tickets to local professional sporting events, golf packages, a four night get-a-way to Lake Tahoe, private wine tasting events and more.

At 7 p.m. the event will switch to a traditional bowling tournament made up of 20 teams of five players competing for a $500 cash prize. The fee is $250 per five players.

Tickets can be purchased at or at the door.
