Lesson learned: Alamo region needs self-direction

Original post made by Jennifer Crest, Alamo, on Jul 1, 2008

Dear neighbors,

Please join your neighbors throughout our Diablo Vista (Alamo) region in donating $25 or more per residence to the Alamo Community Foundation,, before August 1st so sufficient funding is available to pay all Contra Costa LAFCo study costs.

Such studies provide basis for all options proposed for local political and planning voice by our region's neighbors. Whether you oppose, support or differ with current incorporation proposals, such studies will serve as financials for all consideration of local political and planning representation. Neighbors from Saranap/Rudgear to Diablo Road have the potential opportunity to join together and create a local government defined to our will and interests and protect our neighborhoods from the political interests that have acted in opposition to our advisory.

We are inconveniently in the way of all governments’ interests that surround us and we need to be willing to establish our own self-direction. All such options start with the LAFCo study results.

Neighbors are being asked to donate ONLY to the costs of studies and not to any effort to incorporate a town of Alamo as described in the AIM incorporation application submitted to Contra Costa LAFCo. Alamo Community Foundation operates separately from AIM and is only a fund raising effort for payment of the studies

Your neighbors are asking for your support,

Jennifer Crest
