What should be the qualifications of an Alamo MAC member?

Original post made by Hal Bailey, Alamo, on Sep 11, 2009

Dear Dolores,

In the e-exchanges of our regional and corridor neighborhoods, a common question is "WHO is qualified to be an Alamo MAC member and what are the criteria?" More often the question is, "What criteria will Mary use in selecting the seven from her list of seventeen suitable candidates?"

So let us start a new discussion by asking that MAC supporters and the majority on the outside of the selection process simply state what the criteria should be? Imagine, everyone, that the goal is broad, majority participation in directing the MAC members advisory to county districts and departments. What does that take from those members of a MAC??

Of course, we would love to hear from Mary, Tomi and the district staff, but simply let's assume that we are applying the criteria that will make a MAC succeed in 94507 Alamo CA neighborhoods and among the majority of residents.

Any thoughts??

Hal
