How Vague.

Vague? That's because we must protect our own. If the suspect were from Richmond or Antioch, we'd feel comfortable exposing all their info. They must be feared. They are invading our paradise. They are all rotten fruit. Our own fruit only has blemishes. It can surely be polished off before it damages the rest.

Half of Danville seems to be on pharmaceuticals.

What a sarcastic remark from the Danville Mom....not everyone from Richmond or Antioch is BAD....that comment just reminds me of a snooty Danville person, arogant........Danville has it's share of not the best nor nicest folks too ! Glad I do not know her. Last thought : There is a lot of alcohol and drug abuse right here, wake up .....

The police pick and choose whom they want to protect. Last year I almost got run over, the women pulls over and cant even speak. The police come, she calls her husband and with in a few minutes they are all gone. Thats when I lost all respect for the police in our area.

They can't disclose the identity because the suspect is a minor.
If he or she was over 21 I bet we may have seen a name.
Also I'm kind of surprised how young this person was to be on
perscription drugs. Were they stolen perscription drugs or actually
his perscription?

MJ, I couldn't agree more with you. I just said it in a way to ruffle a few feathers. Danville Dad understood. I believe there are wonderful people in every corner of the world and all people are fallible. I am very aware of the alchohol and drug problems that pervade. If, as another poster said "half of Danville seems to be on pharmacueticals," then the other half has to do alot more than "polishing."

Paul - a minor is anyone UNDER 18. So they could disclose the name of this 19 year old. If you attend any of these parent discussions, look at statistics or talk to your own child you will learn that a HIGH majority of high schoolers have experimented with prescription and non prescription drugs to get high (they take them from their parents, buy them at the stores.) The kids think there is no harm.
Coricidin is one of the worst. Check your kids backpacks for it. Another Dville mom - well said. Danville - your right - half of Danville seems to be on pharmacueticals, the other half is drunk!

MJ - another Dville mom's post went totally over your head...she recognizes everything you said, but remind us all that in Danville no names are revealed. Anywhere else it would be public knowledge.

Instead of being so judgemental and accusatory, why can't we as a community have compassion and work to find solutions.... There are plenty of chemical dependent people every where as there are plenty of healthy people.

We don't need to Have Compassion ... This punk will get off with a lesser sentence and commit again... That's the pattern
The guy that killed my relative started at that age too and eventually had three DUIs before killing and destroying our family.

Prescription drug abuse, alcohol abuse...it's all available here in Danville.
Oh I know, let's have yet another raffling off of wine for the elementary & high school to raise money...but this time for drug & alcohol awareness..ha!
Sheesh, wake up people or better yet - sober up people and take a look in the mirror if you can't figure out why the kids are doing what they do.

A lot of the problem with alcohol usage seems to be the binge drinking seen as a rite of passage into adulthood.
Turning alcohol into forbidden fruit tends to just make it seem more desirable.
Maybe our kids (and the adults they grow into) would be better served if they were taught responsible alcohol usage, and an appreciation for the vast range of flavors available, both for drinking and cooking, at an earlier age.
The DARE program (thank you to the Danville PD) worked quite well with our kids, for a while, but we could see its influence waning once they got past 16 so we switched our focus to Plan B i.e. teaching them about responsible usage.
