This bears repeating:

"Safeway locations in Alamo, Clayton, Danville[!!], Lafayette and Walnut Creek are also accepting donations.

The pet food will be distributed by the Salvation Army in Concord and continue through Dec. 30."

Thanks ARF -- terrific program! The Holidays are one of the times when shelters become overloaded with companion animal 'surrenders,' and you know what that means. This kind of program helps keep some pets in their homes where they belong -- and out of the pound where they're in peril!

And while I'm at it: today is Shelter Pet day on facebook -- Web Link

Please consider sharing your life with an adoptable shelter dog or cat! If you need help finding one, I can assist. Please email the editors -- they will know how to find me and I'll get in-touch.

Tony Larusa has done a great job in saving so many animals. We have always got our golden retrievers from golden retriever rescue, or the animal shelters, and encourage everyone to please consider a shelter or rescue for dogs, rather than making breeders rich. There are so many wonderful dogs just waiting for a good home. Thanks, Tony!

ARF is a great organization. I got my 2 chihuahuas from Tony LaRussa's animal rescue foundation. I'm participating in their annual 'Stars to the Rescue' benefit concert January 7th.
