Original post made on May 11, 2011

Bike to Work Day is a statewide annual celebration of bicycling and Bishop Ranch Transportation Association will host all-day energizer stations from 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday, May 12. The locations will be located at the south end of Bishop Ranch where the Iron Horse Trail crosses Bollinger Canyon Road and 3/4 mile east of the Bollinger interchange on I-680. Energizer stations provide encouragement, recognition and free refreshments and goodies to bikers. New cyclists working in Bishop Ranch that are unable to participate on May 12 can contact our transportation program to request a "Bike to Work Starter Kit;" call 830-0101.

Darn! Almost wish I hadn't seen this story in time, being woefully out of shape, but I did and so I've already set up a ride 3/4 of the way home in case my legs seem too rubbery when I gt to work tomorrow. (18+ miles EACH WAY).

37 mile round trip - I'll sleep well tonight..
Many thanks to the various volunteers manning the comfort stations along the way including the Danville PD volunteer contingent and the SRVHS cheerleaders outside Lunardi's.

The new pedestrian bridge near Pleasant Hill BART is a great time saver but accentuated how bad the traffic light timing is at the crossroads by Whole Foods in Walnut Creek.
